Welcome

The Daya Bay collaboration meeting will be held at National Taiwan University on 7-11, December, 2016. Workshops and plenary meetings will take place in the department of Physics building/Center for Condensed Matter Sciences (物理學系/ 凝態科學研究中心), intersection of Xin-Hai Rd. (辛亥路) and Xinsheng S. Rd.(新生南路) (location).

The group dinner will be on Dec. 9(Friday) night.

Visa

Visitors to Taiwan must hold a valid passport. Passports should be valid for at least six months upon entry.

Countries eligible for Visa-exempt entry

The nationals of the following countries are eligible for the visa exemption program, which permits a duration of stay up to 90 days:

Andorra, Australia (Effective from January 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016) , Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile (diplomatic, official/service passports excluded), Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K., U.S.A. and Vatican City State.

The nationals of the following countries are eligible for the visa exemption program, which permits a duration of stay up to 30 days：

Malaysia, Singapore.

大陸地區人民來臺從事專業交流申請資格應備文件

  1. 請協助填寫申請書表格，簽名處須親筆簽名並彩色掃描(jpg檔)。
  2. 相片(jpg檔)：請貼最近6個月內所拍攝之彩色、脫帽未帶有色眼鏡，五官清晰、不遮蓋，相片不修改，足資辨識人貌，直4.5公分橫3.5公分人 像自頭頂至下顎之長度不得小於3.2公分及超過3.6公分，白色背景之正面半身薄光面紙照片，且不得使用合成照片。
  3. 身分證(jpg檔)：彩色正反面
  4. 護照(jpg檔)：護照資料、簽名、美國入境章等掃描圖檔
  5. 國外簽證、居留證彩色掃描(jpg檔)
  6. 學生證及相關識別證件彩色掃描(jpg檔)
  7. 注意以上證件有效日期
  8. 訂房並同上述資料一併回應給我們

大陸地區人民旅居香港、澳門或國外（大陸以外）地區者來臺，申請步驟:

  1. 向NTU取得線上申請之收件號
  2. 備妥以下文件後，逕向台灣駐外館處申請:
    • 大陸地區人民入出臺灣地區申請書(須填上自NTU取得之收件號)
    • 大陸地區核發效期六個月以上旅行證件或足資證明之身分文件
    • 僑居地身分證明
    • 在職證明
  3. 申請人旅居國家無駐外館處者，僅由NTU代為線上申請即可。

入台證手續費：$NTD 600/人 (此費用請於會議期間繳交註冊費時一起繳費。)

Transportation are very convenience. You can take a taxi or high speed rail from airport to Taipei. In Taipei, taxi, bus, metro system(MRT) or ubike are convenience.

Tour1: Let’s go gold mining

Cinque Terre

Jiufen is a decommissioned gold mining town. In 1890, the railway construction workers found placer gold in the Keelung River. It then became a gold rush. Qing Dynasty set a department for gold mining in 1893. Later, people traced the river and found the mineral deposit around the hilltop. The hilltop was named as Jinguashi for its historic gold and copper mines.
